Ethnodesign Festival
Publication date: 2010-05-01
From 6 to 23 May 2010
What is the point of creating ethnodesign objects? To what extent do they mirror our culture? Does the popularity of Polish and European designs that refer to cultural heritage result from market demand alone? Initiated by Kraków’s Ethnographic Museum, the The Małopolska Thing. Ethnodesign Festival will try to answer these questions. From 6 to 23 May, we’ll be taking a closer look at the relationship between ethnography and applied art. In the framework of this year’s edition of the festival are two outdoor events: Wolnica, Freedom, Imagination (on Wolnica Square) and The Małopolska Thing. Park of Cultural Experiences (Poleski Boulevard). Among the supporting events are: an ethnodesign fair as well as workshops, lectures and film screenings.
